Immediate Release SchoolPestFacts.com wins Merit Award RISE (Responsible Industry for a Sound Environment) won the 2002 "Best of NAMA" Merit Award for the web site www.schoolpestfacts.com. Presented by The National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) during its national conference in April, the award honors the best in agricultural marketing and communications. Schoolpestfacts.com is an information resource dedicated to educating parents, teachers, school facility managers and others about the problems associated with pests and how to control them. The site compiles information from sources including the media, governmental organizations and national health institutions to provide a comprehensive resource that is easy to access and easy to use. Winning first place in the regional awards for "Internet Web Sites Directed to General Consumers," Schoolpestfacts.com came in second place behind a site promoting the Missouri State Fair and its 100th anniversary. Other competing nominees were Bayer Environmental Science/VML, California Tree Fruit Agreement/Rhea & Kiser and the Ohio Department of Agriculture/Malore Advertising. Schoolpestfacts.com was developed by Angela Bendorf Jamison, RISE communications specialist. Marlee Margulies, webmaster with Blue Pumpkin Group, does the site design and maintenance.
